The Vaisala developed Digital Barometer PA11 can be used as a panel mounted or stand alone instrument. It gives accurate readings on a clear readout in either psi or hPa. An RS232 output permits logging to a PC. Trend in pressure change is presented upon actuation of a front panel switch.
Pressure is measured by three independant aneroid capsules with captive elements installed in a vacuum inside each aneroid. Capacitor plates are precision welded to ensure maximum possible stability and protection. Three transducer units are used for reliability. Each transducer is a pressure-frequency converter controlled by a microprocessor. This arrangement compensates for temperature drift of the electronics and the aneroid capsules by continuous measurement of capsule temperatures.
