The POS/MV is a GPS aided Inertial Navigation System that delivers full 6 degree freedom position and orientation solutions for marine survey vessels. It assures continuity of all data, and provides significant benefits including precise true heading, immunity to GPS dropouts and degraded differential corrections, high data accuracy at all latitudes and in all dynamic conditions. POS/MV enables continuous survey in areas if problematical GPS/DGPS reception and can also utilise the superior solution of other GPS receivers.
This instrument replaces conventional gyro's, motion sensors and positioning systems whilst increasing productivity and data quality when using multibeam echosounders.
